Warning

  • Warning: Never on marble, limestone or other natural stone. Vinegar is an acid and these surfaces are calcium-based: it etches them permanently rather than cleaning them.
  • Caution: Never on a phone, laptop or TV screen — the anti-reflective coating is dissolved by both vinegar and alcohol.
  • Caution: Leave the essential oils out. A few drops of citrus smell pleasant and leave exactly the residue on your microfibre that this mixture exists to avoid.
  • FlammableBecause this uses Isopropanol
  • Harmful / irritantBecause this uses White vinegar

Mix everything in a spray bottle. Distilled or previously boiled water is worth the trouble here: it is the minerals in tap water that dry into the streaks you are trying to avoid.

Spray onto the cloth, never onto the glass — sprayed on the glass it runs into frames and seals, dries there and streaks.

Wipe with a low-GSM flat-weave cloth, then immediately dry with a second, completely dry one. Drying before the liquid evaporates by itself is what makes the difference, not the mixture.
